Hoat M. Hoang, M.D., FACS

Dr. Hoang has been an integral part of the Amory community from the time he arrived in 2000. Since that time, he has developed a deep appreciation for, and connection with, the people of Amory through delivering high quality, compassionate surgical care. Dr. Hoang practices the full breadth and depth of General Surgical practice, including Vascular, Endocrine, Thoracic, Abdominal, Breast and Skin Cancer surgery and performs traditional open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

Courtney Belcher

Courtney has lived in Amory almost her entire life. She and her husband Lance have a beautiful daughter, Blakely. She started with Amory Surgery Clinic since 2015 and her role as a receptionist is to make you feel welcome and enjoy your time here at Amory Surgery Clinic. She has been in the medical field for 9 years, and enjoys getting to know our patients and helping them fell welcome. When she is not working at Amory Surgery Clinic, she enjoys turkey hunting and other various outdoor activities with her family, shopping with her daughter, and arts & crafts.

Denna Abbott, LPN

Although born in Chicago, Illinois, Denna Abbott has spent most of her life living
in Amory, Mississippi. Within the confines of quaint, southern life, she met Michail Abbott, her
husband of more than 30 years, and had three children: Brandon Abbott (27 years old), Sarah Abbott (23
years old), and Kade Abbott (19 years old). Mrs. Abbott’s passions include spending quality
time with family, serving at her local church as a Sunday School teacher, and working in her
vegetable garden.

Active within various branches of nursing since 1985, Mrs. Abbott’s caregiving
philosophies have evolved from her educational endeavors and practical field experiences. As a
direct result, Mrs. Abbott’s approach to nursing has been to couple didactic methods learned
with invaluable field experience gained, all while conveying solicitude and compassion.
Arriving at Amory Surgery Clinic in 2015, Mrs. Abbott has worked diligently to
uphold the motto, “Whatever it takes to make it great.” To Mrs. Abbott, the process has been
absolutely enjoyable due to the hometown atmosphere of the clinic, the amazing staff at the
clinic, and the familiar family of amazing patients.

Stella Comer

Stella has been a member of the Amory Surgery Clinic team since 2017. A Jackson, Mississippi native, Stella now calls Amory home with her husband, John Ross. She received her Bachelor's of Science in both Biology and Chemistry from Freed-Hardeman University in Tennessee and went on to study at Oklahoma City University where she received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Considering herself a life-long learner, Stella employs a variety of skills and knowledge coupled with compassion and empathy to aid those going through the surgical process.

Emily Mitchell

Emily was born in Tupelo, MS and raised in Okolona, graduating from Amory High School in 2005. She went on to ICC where she earned her degree in Early Childhood Education. After a few years in the Education field, she decided she wanted to try a different occupation. She joined Amory Surgery Clinic in April of 2017 as part of our office personnel.

 

She is married to Austin Mitchell and has a beautiful step-daughter, Drew. When she is not working, she enjoys hunting, riding the motorcycle with her husband and shopping with Drew.
